The Orchard Notes Links Library has Gone Live

Back in January, when I was musing on my plans for 2026, I mentioned that I’d quite like to set up a good, old-fashioned links library, to try to do my small part to highlight the work of fellow fruit-focused writers, organisations, food and drink producers, and anything else of interest I might find out there on t’Internet.

Well, I’ve only gone and finally pulled my finger out1For the benefit of any bemused readers: this rather quaint idiom is apparently Australian in origin, but has always been quite popular in good ol’ Blighty. Where one is supposed to have pulled one’s finger out from nobody quite knows, and to be perfectly honest, I’m reluctant to speculate… haven’t I? If you head on over to the Links Library section of the site, you’ll find five main categories of links to browse through, as follows:

Fruit Info Resources

Websites, magazines, blogs, and other sources of information for all kinds of fruit growers.

Fruit People & Organisations

U.K. and Ireland-based orchard and fruit growing organisations and independent orchard consultants.

Fruit Nurseries

U.K. and Ireland-based, independent, specialist growers and retailers of fruit trees, bushes and plants.

Orchards & Fruit Gardens

Community orchards and fruit-focused gardens from around the U.K. and Ireland.

Cider, Perry & Juice

U.K. & Ireland-based cider, perry, juice & fruit spirit makers & seller, info resources & organisations.

All links have been checked and added by yours truly over the past fortnight or so, so they should be pointing towards live websites that are accepting traffic. Some of the websites in question don’t seem to be running on properly secured servers, so you may see a few of the usual warnings about whether or not you really want to visit the site. That’s entirely up to you, of course.

I’ll be adding to the links library on an ongoing basis, so if you know of a good website that fits into any of the above categories that I haven’t listed yet, please feel free to drop me a line to let me know, so I can check it out and decide whether to add it or not.

Please N.B. I’m only accepting and adding websites with stand-alone domain names, or at the very least ones that are hosted on one of the major d.i.y. website builder sites. Please don’t send in any Facebook / Instagram pages, or X / BlueSky accounts, etc. thank you!
