Support The Orchard Project’s Big Give Fundraiser

The Orchard Project – the UK’s only national charity dedicated solely to the creation, restoration and celebration of community orchards – is currently fundraising in partnership with The Big Give.

They’re aiming to raise £30,000 to “plant 6 beautiful and wildlife-rich orchards in some of the UK’s most deprived areas”, and every pound donated between now and the end of the fundraiser on December 7th will be match-funded, doubling your donation.

The Orchard Project says: “We will make each new orchard a thriving haven for nature – by working closely with the local community and training volunteers on how best to look after each one.” Each of these new community orchards will provide local volunteers with opportunities to learn about growing fruit, and about the wider ecological and biodiversity benefits of orchard spaces. They’ll also benefit from the incredibly life-affirming work of establishing and running an orchard, as well as the literal fruits of their labours.

It’s an incredibly worthwhile project and one that fully deserves your support. This festive season, give the gift of fruit trees to six communities, and know that you’ve helped people take their first steps into a fruitful future.
