Meet the Moor Nook Park Community Orchard

This short and sweet video from The Orchard Project highlights the transformative power of the community orchard at Moor Nook Park in Barlow Moor, South Manchester.

Three Mums, one patch of neglected parkland, one great idea, a couple of dozen trees and a bunch of willing volunteers. Sometimes that’s all it takes to transform a green space and bring a community together in celebration.

Inspiring stuff.

  1. Hi Darren , I’m janet one of mums in the moor nook video – we are still running our Apple festival but struggling to borrow apple pressing equipment – do you know of anyone willing to do this ? , thanks Janet – moor nook park x

    1. Hi Janet – I’m guessing you’ve already asked your contact at The Orchard Project? If they don’t have their bike-powered pressing kit any more you could try the folks at The Kindling Trust, or Temperance Street Cider, who might have something portable. I’ll ask one or two other people I know as well and drop you an email if any of them say they have pressing gear they can loan out.
