It’s fruit tree planting season, and this highly relevant Twitter thread, from Keith of @Stumopupfortrees – a small charity and community initiative with the big goal of planting a million trees in the Brecon Beacons area of Wales – caught my eye yesterday and turned out to be well worth a read-through:
You’ll need to head over to Twitter to read the whole thread (the WordPress embed function only picks up the first tweet). Don’t be put off by that 1/25 tag. Keith has pulled together solid data and research findings on the usefulness or otherwise of tree guards – particularly the commonly used, plastic variety – and his conclusions are well worth reading and digesting.
And do check out stumpupfortrees.org for more information on their Brecon Beacons tree planting mission.
