A recent email newsletter from the RHS contained a link to the Lindley Library section on their website, celebrating the wonderful world of heritage apples.
There’s a few paragraphs of apple history and lore, information on the importance of heritage orchards for genetic and bio-diversity, information on how to get involved in heritage orchard and apple variety preservation, and a selection of very lovely heritage apple paintings, by artists including William Hooker, Barbara Cotton and Charles John Robertson.
Well worth a look whilst you enjoy with your morning brew.
